Beginner / Intermediate
Service Learning is a rapidly growing community service oriented educational
strategy that offers great potential as a source of volunteers and for winning
local support for preservation, while increasing awareness of the many
benefits and importance of preservation to a broader audience. This session,
sponsored by the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, will show how
links between preservationists and schools can boost local and national
preservation efforts and goals, improve history education, increase civic
participation and local pride—and how to make it happen in your area!
