Somewhere you found a town name. What do you do next? What do You want to know? Where can you research? and finally, How do you organize what you find? We will begin by reviewing Eastern European historical maps and then research the towns using JewishGen's town pages, maps and gazetteers; we will continue using Routes to Roots, Jewish Records Indexing-Poland, Google and other key web sites. We will address what kinds of Information might exist and where it might be found. We will cover how to find others researching the same town or area. And finally, what information to keep, how to organize the information and where to keep it. The handout will list all the web sites we will cover.
