In this session, attendees will learn how this rural hospital transformed its emergency department patient experience scores from subpar to exceptional. The speaker will share how a primary focus on communication strategies, patient-centered care and collaboration at all levels allowed Dearborn County Hospital to overcome negative community perceptions and reinvent its emergency department experience. The team leveraged communication and collaboration strategies by providing effective leadership and training for the emergency department staff and supported cultural change through positive reinforcement and improved hiring practices.
