Methylation is the process of adding single carbon units to cellular molecules in order to synthesize molecules or regulate them. It is a ubiquitous process that plays a diverse array of roles in physical, emotional, and mental health. Optimizing methylation is not only about getting enough of certain nutrients or getting them in the right forms, but is also about getting them in the right balance and in a way that is right for the genetics and health status of each individual. ?Health status? includes one of the most commonly neglected aspects of the methylation process, the need to maintain a high metabolic rate. This talk explores the practical aspects of achieving this balance and correctly targeting the needs of the individual.
