For Environmental, Health, and Safety professionals, effectively managing risk is an essential component of their job. Identifying, evaluating, controlling, and communicating these risks are essential building blocks to a comprehensive safety program. Although this sounds simple, many organizations find it difficult to collect and use this information effectively. This presentation will outline an approach successfully used in an industrial setting to identify, assess, and communicate risk. Included will be a review of two simple methods to present and prioritize risk to facilitate management discussions that gain support for resolving risks.
