The fire service and other emergency first responders are currently benefiting from enhanced electronic technologies; the increasingly sensor-rich environment they operate in provides access to vast amounts of highly useful data. The "smart" fire fighter of tomorrow is envisioned as being able to fully utilize the available data to perform their job efficiently and effectively. This presentation reports on the development of a research roadmap to address the smart fire fighting and the smart fire fighter of the future.
