The California Office of the State Fire Marshal convened a working group to review flammability standards for building insulation materials. The group's goal was to review published data, technical information, and peer-reviewed scientific studies, then offer recommendations regarding conditions under which flame retardant chemicals could be omitted from building insulations without compromising and/or reducing the fire safety of the building, building occupants, and fire fighters. This session will provide an overview of the process used by the working group, as well as the final report and recommendations.
