In this course, the association between diabetes and periodontal diseases will be elucidated, with special emphasis to how it impacts periodontal health and response to treatment. In addition, the management as well as the supportive therapy of diabetic patients with periodontitis will be discussed, including different treatment approaches that can be used in challenging cases.
