There have been many advances in nursing since the IOM Report in 2010 recognized Nursing Leadership in an interprofessional model of care. This model supports a movement forward toward health promotion and disease prevention strategies for individuals, communities, and healthcare organizations. In the forefront of new directions in healthcare is the rise of both integrative nursing and integrative medicine in diverse clinical settings and specialties and in emerging community health models. This Panel will discuss innovative models of care, integrative nurse leadership models in interprofessional collaborative patient centered care, and explore the challenges and opportunities for improving health outcomes and provider satisfaction.
