Anchored and Direct Adhered Stone Design and Installation: New Challenges
Rodney Harvey
Format: Video of Slides with Synchronized Audio
Modernization of building and energy conservation codes has introduced new challenges for the design community and installers as well. The requirement for thermal isolation and improvement in the building envelope has many designers and installers searching for new products and methods that will provide alternatives to traditional installations which do not meet the appropriate performance criteria. During this seminar we will review detail examples of problem installations and possible solutions discussing options for product and system types.
At the end of this seminar, participants should be able to:
Review current energy code requirements for “continuous” insulation
Discuss direct adhered and ventilated façade installation concepts
Demonstrate the use of proven standards for code compliant installations
Implement quality control milestones from the design studio to the jobsite to ensure the long term sustainability of the installation
Determine the potential pitfalls of short cuts in design and installation
