Your ability to manage cash flow directly influences your project success. Just being aware of these elements, combined with taking action, can lead to improved odds for project success. As the end of the project is approaching, it is time to look at retention and final billing preparation and be proactive in analyzing your options. Session material is presented at an intermediate/advanced level and is for commercial contractors.

Learning Objectives:

1 .Identify the ins and outs of cash flow and learn to project cash flow by department or job

2. Track total cash flow by analyzing backlog, estimating monthly project income and anticipating cash disbursements 3. Examine the punch-list process—giving notice, interim versus final, allocating funds to items, establishing escrow accounts, and finishing on time

4. Prepare to negotiate using bid documents, meeting minutes, notification copies, request for change orders, cost records, estimates, schedules and correspondence as evidence

Jason has worked with a variety of general contractors, subcontractors, engineers and developers. He has developed numerous long-term relationships and has a proven track record of improving client profitability and operational efficiency. In addition, Jason is an experienced instructor for FMI's strategy and productivity related education programs such as Improving Construction Productivity, Weathering the Storm and Strategies for Surviving the Upswing. Jason earned a bachelor of science degree and a master of business administration degree from the University of Florida.
