Antibiotics and analgesics are the two most commonly prescribed medications by dentists in the US. What specific antibiotics and analgesics are needed in each dental office's "tool box"? Dr. Coke will present the alarming trends in the development of new antibiotics and how we as a profession can assist in slowing the progression of resistant bacteria. He will address any new trends in antibiotic premedication for dental procedures. A review of analgesics will also be presented and he will update on the less commonly prescribed analgesics that are safer for our patients.
