This session will provide you with an overview of electrical safety in the workplace from both a compliance and user perspective. The subject matter to be covered includes hazard recognition, de-energized work, working on live parts, lockout/tagout, voltage testing, personal protective equipment, and training requirements. The session will also address the correlation between the OSHA regulations for general industry and the requirements in NFPA 70E. The information provided in this session will assist employers in converting the OSHA electrical safety-related work practices into comprehensive protective strategies for workers.
Ken Mastrullo
is the Compliance Assistance Coordinator for the Region 1 office of OSHA. His responsibilities include providing electrical expertise and technical support for OSHA's compliance and outreach efforts.Prior to come in OSHA, Ken was a Senior Electrical Specialist at the NFPA He was also the lead author of the "Electrical Safety Program Book", and co-author of "NFPA 70E Handbook for Electrical Safety in the Workplace", published by the NFPA.
