As PV installations continue to represent an ever-increasing percentage of U.S. energy needs, regulatory requirements and compliance continues to be a significant challenge in many parts of the country. This session will answer many of your questions regarding a fast-changing technology, and its certification and code requirements.
Thomas Lichtenstein
is a Sr. Regulatory Engineer in UL's Regulatory Services Department. Tom serves on NEC CMP-19 as UL's Principal representative and as Alternate on CMP-1. Tom also served as UL's representative on the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Part 1 for several cycles. Tom is responsible for supporting the Western Section of the IAEI for UL as well as coordinating the development of UL's White Book and White Book CD.
With UL since 1989,
Alfredo (Al) Ramirez
is Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Inc.'s Manerager of Regulatory Services, which works with regulatory authorities in the United States. This group helps assist Authorities Having Jurisdiction, domestically, to resolve product acceptance issues and resolve potential conflicts between UL requirements and installation codes, among other things. Al is currently the Chair of NFPA 30A
