Emerald ash borer (EAB) is an invasive metallic wood boring beetle from Asia, first detected in the U.S. in Michigan in 2002 and most recently discovered on the New York/Connecticut border. EAB larvae are egregious pests that consume living cambium, effectively girdling a tree. When numerous, they are lethal. Learn where it is, how fast it is spreading, and the most effective ways to control it.
• Focus on diagnosis of EAB and how to differentiate it from other ash feeders
• Learn the important role IPM plays in the fight against EAB
• Evaluate chemical and non-chemical approaches for managing this pest
