Fred Rogers was the host for the long-running American children's

program "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood." He was one of the greatest influencers of the past century,

and not just to children but to adults as well. In this class, we will deconstruct Mr. Rogers' testimony to

the 1969 U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Communications which brought Senator Pastore to tears and

saved public television from a $10 million budget cut. This testimony is considered one of the most

powerful pieces of testimony ever offered before Congress, and one of the most powerful pieces of

video presentation ever filmed.
