It was recognized and accepted that Parkview Behavioral Health was the most dangerous place to work within the Parkview Health system. Turnover was high, and for those with longevity, violence was expected. Finding this unacceptable, Parkview Behavioral Health embarked on a journey to decrease co-worker injuries through a comprehensive culture change initiative. Attend this session to learn how Parkview reset expectations for co-worker and patient interactions, built a patient-centered culture through improved hiring practices and job shadowing, and remodeled high-acuity units to decrease co-worker injuries, decrease turnover, and improve the patient experience.
