Before its safety journey began in June 2016, Gwinnett Women?s Services averaged 1.5 serious safety events (SSEs) per month. A combined focus on patient safety and satisfaction was initiated to improve the patient experience. As a result, the organization has not experienced an SSE in 900+ days and counting, performing above the 90th percentile in six of nine domains and increasing RN communication top-box scores from 83.6% to 89.3%.
