Low performance scores can be a catalyst for innovative change. In 2013, extremely low safety culture and engagement scores at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham drove a call to action to address key cultural deficiencies and led to the implementation of initiatives focused on employee engagement, leadership accountability and improving the patient experience?including a service excellence program called ?Driving to Always.? Nicknamed DRIVE by staff, this initiative used Press Ganey top box score of ?Always? as a measure of success. In this session, attendees will hear the details of this program and how it stimulated positive safety culture changes across the organization.
