Anthropologists say that kinship clubs are unique to American Jewish Families of Ashkenazic background. This presentation will explore Jewish family clubs and family circles as a cultural phenomenon and will show through example how exploring cousins' clubs can be useful for genealogy research. Most examples used in this presentation are from clubs in the Midwest, including the Katz family of Cleveland, who held a family reunion in 1905 with photos and a memorial book to kick off their cousins' club!
