CSI: Crowd Sourced Indexing is a new web-based tool for societies and SIGs to use to manage their indexing projects. It greatly reduces the workload of the project administrator and makes indexing easier for everyone. Anyone can participate with Internet access and a modern web browser. There is no need for downloading files or working with Excel spreadsheets. A user can sign up, choose a project, read the instructions online, and begin indexing right away. For the admins, CSI tracks the indexing progress, eliminating the hassle of tracking the documents to know which are completed, which have been sent out, or who has them.
CSI was a semifinalist in the 2017 RootsTech Innovator Showdown and won the 2018 IAJGS Achievement Award for Outstanding Project/Resource/Program. Come learn from its programmer how it works and how it can help your organization manage its transcription projects.
