Learn how The Friends of Jewish Dokshitsy, a non-profit created in 2006 to preserve the history of a Jewish community keeps interest alive. I'll briefly describe helping local officials restore the Jewish Cemetery. I've traveled to the Dokshitsy district yearly since 2015 to network with officials and residents and with fellow descendants. I created a website and a Facebook group with over 500 members to keep people in the loop. I helped with the printing of the Dokshitz Parafynovo Yizkor book (Yizkor Book in Print Program) including finding 150 additional pages and personally delivering 90 books. Shetl reunions took place on 2010 and 2016. I led three Holocaust memorial ceremonies in the Dokshitsy District, for their own sake and to show that there is interest. Multiple trips to Israel to Network, and meeting descendants anywhere I travel, including Houston, New York city, Israel, and Atlanta continues my dedication to keep this town alive among its descendants.
