ON THE TRAIL OF OUR ANCESTORS ? FROM UKRAINE TO CLEVELAND AND MORE With genealogical information on hand, we visited many sites of Eastern Europe where our ancestors, walked, lived, loved, prayed and died for a thousand years. The audience will travel with us on a virtual tour through Poland, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine, perhaps actually seeing their own European ancestral sites ? and why they came to parts of NY, Pennsylvania and Cleveland, Ohio. Our journey required much planning and preparation. Some of the obstacles we overcame will be described, including selection of a knowledgeable guide, hotels, and obtaining transportation between countries ? all on a very tight schedule. Through a powerPoint presentation of photographs, music and film, the audience will gain insight into what attracted our ancestors to this European region, how their communities were destroyed, the vestiges what remain, and finally observe the resurgence of a new Jewish presence.
