Presenter: Jeanette Rosenberg
Exploring the different documentary sources located as part of my own genealogical research, I will share the story of a German-Jewish family that has now scattered all around the world. Using a case study, my presentation explains how some of the more novel treatments of genealogical data can help you break down your own German-Jewish genealogy brick walls. The presentation documents one family's origins and their dispersal. This presentation includes references to a wide variety of genealogical research techniques and provides researchers who share German-Jewish family origins with ideas and good practice that they may wish to employ in their own research. It includes maps and geography, history and timelines, religions and artefacts, languages, documents, details of archival visits, databases, websites and other sources of help. I hope that learning from what I have done and where I've been will help others to break down their own genealogical brick walls.
