Every genealogist should be volunteering to help with indexing projects. The reason that genealogy is so much easier in recent years is because of the plethora of search engines online. While a few companies have large databases created by paid indexers, most genealogy search engines are built entirely by volunteers, often local societies and special interest groups, sometimes just a small group of researchers with an interest in specific records. CSI: Crowd Sourced Indexing is a new tool for societies and SIGs to use to manage their indexing projects. It greatly reduces the workload of the project administrator and makes indexing easier for everyone. CSI is a semifinalist in the 2017 RootsTech Innovator Showdown. Come learn from its programmer how it works and how it can help your organization manage its transcription projects.
