An experienced Budapest-based Hungarian Jewish genealogist will present this overview session covering of the history of Hungarian Jewry and resources for researching families from Greater Hungary. Participants will learn how to determine the present name of ancestral places that are now in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and Serbia and where to look for resources. In addition to reviewing JewisjhGen?s Hungarian resources, the speaker will talk about the many additional resources with which you may be less familiar. The presentation will also be a myth-breaker telling the real story about Jewish surnames including name changes.
