Networking is Not a Dirty Word - Network to Increase Sales and Grow Your Business
Beverly Koehn
Format: Video of Slides with Synchronized Audio
Networking is one of the most misunderstood business principles in the selling world. It’s also one of the most dreaded – but it doesn’t have to be. Networking is not pushing yourself off on others and handing out business cards at events you’re not even interested in. Effective networking is a tool that provides you access to people and resources that can support you in getting what you want while offering them assistance in getting what they want in return. Building this business base can absolutely make the difference in growing your business or simply waiting for things to happen (sometimes known as the hope principle).
At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
Identify which connections offer them the greatest return on their networking investment
Allocate appropriate time and budget increments for networking opportunities
Prepare effectively for networking encounters and develop a plan of action for each activity
Discuss the difference between establishing themselves as the expert in their field and planting seeds vs. being perceived as the pushy salesperson
