Traditional prescription medications and phytochemical treatments will be reviewed, followed by presentation of equol, a new and emerging molecule that improves skin, hair and prostate health that can be easily incorporated into clinical practice. Specifically, equol will be presented from in vitro (basic science) and in vivo (human clinical) studies. Concise coverage of the youthful expression of dermal genes/proteins along with product data will be presented. While the focus of the presentation will be on scalp hair retention/ growth and results from human prostate (BPH) studies where equol is effective in treating both conditions. The mechanisms that are operational in human skin, scalp hair and in human prostate applications demonstrate the effectiveness of equol as an anti-aging treatment. All of the findings that will be presented have recently been published in/from peer-reviewed international scientific meetings and journals.
