This course will compare labor efficiencies across several common single-ply and multi-layer roof coverings, and explore the major factors that were observed to impact the labor efficiency of a low-slope roof installation. Findings will be shared from an extensive North American labor study on low-slope roof system applications, conducted between 2011-2016 by Trinity | ERD, a building envelope consulting firm. ?This session is presented at all levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced.
1. Identify the typical labor requirements for common multi-layer and single-ply roof coverings.?
2. Evaluate how labor efficiencies compare across various common roof systems at a task level, such as field application, drain details, base flashing, etc.?
3. Evaluate the impact that project parameters such as climate and roof design/features have on labor efficiency across multiple roof coverings and improve the ability to adjust estimates appropriately.?
4. Identify common mistakes low-slope roofing contractors make that have major impacts on labor expense and profit?and how to avoid those mistakes.
