The program will also provide guidance and hints for roofing contractors to obtain and negotiate better contracts.? Instead of just trying to delete or modify unfavorable contract provisions in contracts prepared by general contractors and owners, roofing contractors should have their own set of terms and conditions geared to conditions and issues that arise in roof construction, dealing with such issues as moisture from concrete decks, inadequate slope and drainage, design liability, unforeseen conditions and dispute resolution. The overall objective of this seminar is to alert and educate roofing contractors to contract provisions so that the contractor can use and modify contract provisions effectively to limit and manage liability.? By attending this program, a roofing contractor will:

1. Gain knowledge of contract provisions that roofing contractors might? include in their construction contracts with general contractors for new roof construction projects in anticipation of problems and issued that arise in new construction projects.?
2. Be able to recognize contract provisions in contracts prepared by others that increase unreasonably roofing contractor liability and know how to modify those provisions.?
