Looking beyond symbolic compliance, the presentation will offer a comprehensive approach into achieving true efficiency and extending the roof life expectancy. The presentation will also focus on building envelope contribution to ‘Sustainable Sites’ and the impact of roof color and insulation levels of roof assemblies. Vegetated roofs and their impact will also be addressed along with design recommendations by which their service life can be extended. The session will conclude with tips on how to further reduce the building’s carbon footprint and include specific strategies on maintaining building envelope efficiency during reconstruction projects. Current building codes will be reviewed.
