This session offers participants the latest from OSHA’s Directorate of Construction including current and recent rulemaking efforts, a retrospective of past year’s regulatory advancements, industry safety performance and enforcement statistics, as well as directive revisions, notable interpretations, and the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH). Participants will be able to question OSHA staff and discuss the state of construction safety.

Jim Maddux, Director, OSHA Directorate of Construction. Jim has held several leadership positions at OSHA, including Director of the Office of Physical Hazards, the Office of Maritime, the Office of Biological Hazards, the Office of Safety Systems, and Acting Deputy Director for the OSHA Directorate of Standards and Guidance. Jim has been a project director, author and contributor to numerous OSHA standards and guidance projects, including payment for personal protective equipment, pandemic influenza guidance, injury and illness recordkeeping regulations, the ergonomics standard and ergonomics guidelines, motor vehicle safety guidance, hearing conservation, and several maritime standards and guidance products. Jim has a Bachelor's degree in economics, an Associate degree in computer information systems, and an Associate degree in chemistry.
