If you know what parish your Danish ancestor lived in, where do you go from there? As long as you know the parish, you are likely to find your person of interest. Learn how to use the free Dansk Demografisk Database (ddd.dda.dk) and Arkivalieronline websites to search Danish censuses and browse scanned Danish church records. Learn about the types of records that can be found in Danish church books: christenings, confirmations (around age 15), marriages, burials, comings, and goings. Be alerted to pitfalls?e.g., never record a hometown as "Copenhagen," as the city has over 200 parishes!
