Presenter: Robert Abel, MD Format: Video of slides with synchronized audio
The Eye has been called the window to the soul, but it is also the portal to the entire body. Eighty percent of our sensory connection to the world is through the eye which has 100 times more fibers to the brain than the ear. And vision comprises 40% of the brain. The anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the eye will be reviewed. Ophthalmology is the most technical and calibrated field in medicine. Neurodegenerative diseases will be diagnosed through the eye. However, 90% of diagnoses can be made by the patient.
Dr. Abel will enumerate the many complimentary options for managing common ocular disorders. Nutrition, supplementation, exercise, water, rhythmic breathing and even spirituality will be included in the session. There will be time for questions and answers at the end.
