It takes insight and experience to recognize the challenges inherent in Collaborative representation and negotiation. This workshop assumes that the participants have had a meaningful number of Collaborative cases and have experienced first-hand the nuances, tensions and challenges of advocacy in Collaborative work. There will be in-depth discussion, demonstration and role-play focused on how to work with a range of changing advocacy needs, the challenges of managing client expectations of process and outcome, integrating perceptions of fairness with the law and interests, and applying these concepts to our most challenging case dynamic: cases involving the betrayer and the betrayed.
