This course will present techniques for preoperative intraoral scanning, scanning of stock abutments versus scanning bodies, design of custom abutments and the CAD/CAM procedures necessary to preoperatively construct temporary abutments and provisional crowns. After the lecture portion, Dr. Ferguson will place an implant issuing a completely guided surgical technique. He will place a temporary abutment and a temporary crown on the same patient. This will be accomplished after taking a preoperative intraoral scan, merging it with a CBCT scan and digitally producing the surgical guide, temporary abutment and temporary crown. At no time will a conventional impression be used.
