Most fire prevention advocates believe that fire inspections work. Using methodologies from the Fire Protection Research Foundation study "Measuring Code Compliance Effectiveness" and the National Fire Academy's course "Demonstrating Your Fire Prevention Program's Worth," this session will examine two statewide fire inspection programs that have reduced the number and severity of fires in targeted properties. Also addressed will be how fire loss and inspection data can be used to demonstrate positive outcomes and effectiveness of regular fire inspections.
