Intentional arson and pranks involving youth firesetting (YFS), fireworks, bottle bombs, and false alarms on school property are real issues that threaten student/staff safety and cause educational system disruption. This session focuses on using partnerships, proactive education, and other effective prevention strategies to maintain safe schools and communities. Included will be information on best practices in discipline and intervention when YFS incidents do occur. Free materials vetted by leading international YFS experts will be highlighted. Learn methods to increase YFS awareness, provide preventive education, promote safety, initiate early intervention, and facilitate constructive discussions on YFS and associated social, financial, medical, and legal consequences.
