There is currently no defined method or specific requirement for adjusting water supply data used to design fire protection systems. Jensen Hughes is conducting research to identify variables that affect water supply data and determine if those variables can be quantified to develop an adjustment factor(s) for use in conducting hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems. The results of the research will provide an approach to adjusting water supply data that ensures calculated fire protection systems will perform under varying water supply conditions. This session will provide participants with a proposed approach for adjusting water supply data as well as the key variables requiring consideration when interpreting water supply data.
