Remembering When is a fire and fall prevention program for older adults developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is designed to help older adults live safely at home as long as possible. It is coalition-based with at least two partners -- the fire service and the home visiting agency. Coalition members determine the best way to implement the program, but implementation is typically through a combination of group presentation and home visits. This session will include a discussion of the program from the perspective of those implementing it in the field and explain the effort underway with the Fire Protection Research Foundation to evaluate the efficacy of the program.
