This session will review the critical elements of a comprehensive intervention program designed to curtail youth misuse of fire. Evaluation is key: starting with the need for the program, how well it is being conducted, and whether is has an impact on changing knowledge and behavior to ultimately reduce fire misuse and, thereby, reduce death, injury, and property loss. This seminar will incorporate model program measurement techniques used by Vision 20/20 and the National Fire Academy Program Evaluation Training and will define specific measurements for youth firesetting programs.
