The Vegas High Roller, at 550 ft, is the world's tallest observation wheel. Vigorous analysis was done to ensure its continuous operation and the safety of the visitors on board its 28 capsules. This presentation will describe the safety analysis conducted, including the redundant power drive systems, external drive mechanism, and quality control measures. Also discussed will be procedures for loading passengers under normal and emergency conditions and methods for emergency passenger extractions by Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.
