The health care industry is preparing for the eventual adoption of the 2012 Life Safety Code® by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, The Joint Commission, and others. This process includes the inherent adoption of numerous other codes and standards that are referenced by the Life Safety Code. This session will highlight the changes in referenced codes and standards that will directly affect health care facilities. There will be specific focus on NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems; NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems; and NFPA 72®, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
