As engineering progresses forward with Building Information Modeling (BIM) design, fire protection engineers are being driven into the realm of three-dimensional drafting and design. It's time to make the jump from utilizing a 3D program and creating a 2D plan to BIM fire protection design. This session will present an overview of BIM design and how it can relate to fire protection engineering with examples of specific BIM platforms and their use for fire protection design.

Robin Zevotek is a Fire Protection Engineer with C&S Engineers working towards a PE in Fire Protection. As a Fire Protection Engineer and officer with the Moyers Corners Fire Department he has developed a passion for Life Safety. He has presented at the central New York engineering expo and is an instructor with the Moyers Corners Fire Department. Through his work in computer science he has developed in-depth knowledge of fire protection design software.
