The over-sixty population will increase significantly and dominate our practice during the next decade. We now see a major increase and frequency of oral conditions associated with the Baby Boomer Generation. The four primary areas of concern are around chronic inflammation and periodontitis with over 67% having tooth loss disease, xerostomia at greater than 40% with the compromised lifestyle, symptoms that are difficult to find, treating root caries, and implant disease. We not only review these primary diseases from diagnosis to management for a lifetime, but develop the case presentation and positive case acceptance by understanding the generational characteristics of this age group with what they want and desire.
