To facilitate a better understanding of the overall process of implant dentistry, this course will review practical implant maintenance procedures, the etiology of implant complications, the basics of surgical placement, site preparation, and restoration with either fixed or removable prosthetics. Treatment planning considerations regarding tooth retention versus implant placement as well as anatomical concerns and systemic factors will also be reviewed.
