If current trends continue as predicted, dentists will be treating patients with cardiovascular disease more than ever before. These patients are medically-complex, take many medications to treat their diseases, are at higher risk for dental drug interactions, and may require dental treatment modifications. This course will provide attendees with an overview of cardiovascular systemic diseases and the dental considerations of the medications used in their treatment. Specific emphasis will be placed on the use of epinephrine, "new" anticoagulants, and related agents.
