This course will cover the nuances of infective endocarditis and joint prophylaxis based on the most current guidelines of the American Heart Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, respectively. Current information on hypertension guidelines and the medications used to manage the hypertensive patient will also be presented. The actions of these medications and their oral side effects will be specifically addressed. The format of this course is case-based and will encourage audience participation.
