Millions of implants have been placed over the last decade, and an increasing number are compromised with peri-implantitis. This course will explain the historical approach to trying to save an implant. We will discuss and contrast current treatment methods and philosophies. Clinical cases will also be presented. The LAPIP protocol, a Nd:YAG laser -based peri-implantitis treatment, will be introduced with a brief overview of laser physics.
