Treating Trauma: Utilizing Hypnosis and Ego State Therapy

This workshop will present a review of Ego-state therapy including important principles and applications for treating
trauma related disorders including PTSD, Borderline Personality disorder, and dissociative disorders. Given safety and
stability, the first phase of trauma treatment is the foundation for any effective trauma treatment, primary focus will be
on hypnotic and ego state therapy applications to assist this phase including: grounding, anxiety and affect regulation,
ego strengthening, and containment skills. Attention will also be given to processing, resolving, and integrating traumatic
material via an ego state therapy approach. Material will be presented via power-point which will include video clips and
artwork. Brief group demonstrations will also be included for those who voluntarily want to participate and participant
discussion will be encouraged.
